PRO BONO WORK
Pillar Awards Africa is an inspirational platform that is based on the accomplishments of the young women of Africa, where the compelling stories and personalities behind each achievement are illuminated, shared and celebrated. The awards intent is for the African female youth to have a burning ambition to make a mark not only in their personal lives, but in the larger society as well – with the discovery and living proof testimony of home grown role models who have risen against all odds, in the same environment, to be celebrated Pillars of Africa and beyond.
The awards target the full economic spectrum of young women aged 18 to 35 years old, both rural and urban, single or married, with at least a high school education.
Sue Omanga, EML Founder and CEO was a Judge at the 2011 Awards. She further assists by counseling the Awards’ governing board on how best to raise the profile of this annual event and increase its breadth through proposing ways of making it more meaningful to the lives of Africans.
